Nice to meet you, where’ve you been?
My name is Maddie, and I will be your infant and toddler sleep consultant.
I am a pediatric sleep consultant and also a board-certified behavior analyst.
Let’s get to know each other.
I can show you incredible things.
Can I just say that I am thrilled to start this journey with you? I know it's been tough & I am here to tell you that you have come to the right place. I wanted to share with you a little bit of my background.
I grew up in the windy city of Chicago. I broke my collarbone playing baseball in high school. Instead of adding a boring study hall during my gym class (since I couldn't participate), I opted to ask my gym teacher if she needed help with anything else. To my surprise, she said yes! She asked me to help assist her in the special needs gym class. After my collarbone healed, I continued to help. We ran 2 successful Special Olympics.
In college, I would come home and work summers at camps for kids with special needs.
I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education K-12. When I was student teaching, I needed a side job. So I worked as an in-home behavior therapist for a young child on the autism spectrum. I decided to go back to school to get my master's degree at The University of Cincinnati in Behavior Analysis and became a board-certified behavior analyst.
I have worked with children with disabilities ages 2-21 in the school, home, clinic, and community setting.
In March 2020, I gave birth to my first daughter. I think we can both remember what else happened in the world in March 2020. Soon, I spiraled into a deep depression and developed postpartum depression/anxiety. We had nobody around to visit and nobody to help. We had moved to St. Petersburg, FL away from family a few years prior, so we were truly alone.
But one thing that helped me recover from PPD/PPA was consolidated sleep. And soon I found myself in a Facebook group ran by sleep consultants. They were so realistic and kind. Offered exceptional advice. And I just felt like I found my niche. Soon I began helping friends and family on the side to help their babies and their kids sleep. So I became officially certified in June 2022!
Now that you know a bit about me and my journey, let's begin yours.
